Document Understanding For Healthcare Referrals
We’re proud to announce that our data scientists, Natalia M. Arzeno, PhD and Jimit Mistry will be sharing their research at the prestigious IEEE ICHI conference at Rice University in Houston on June 29th, 10am – 12pm CT.
Their research, “Document Understanding for Healthcare Referrals,” addresses a significant challenge in the healthcare industry: the heavy reliance on fax messages and scanned documents for healthcare referrals and the issues relating to data extraction from these files.
Their paper on their proposed hybrid vision-plus-NLP model to tackle this challenge has been approved for publication and should be available to IEEE’s academic community soon. Their findings indicate significantly increased efficiency in referral management, reducing administrative costs and potential errors that can impact patient care.
